Hi, I’m Christina!
Pronouns: (she/her)
I am a licensed professional counselor and board certified art therapist who is fiercely passionate about providing a different kind of care.
I am a neurodivergent therapist who is passionate about helping other neurodivergent people live joyful, fulfilling lives. I am passionate about supporting people who are overwhelmed and burnt out, struggle with emotional expression and regulation, struggle with realtionships, or who feel like they are walking on eggshells all the time. I may be a good fit you want to be challenged in the therapy space, equally enjoy using humor and tears as an emotional release, and enjoy using creative approaches to explore and gain clarity. I work with clients who want to understand themselves better, be more aware of the things that impact them, and are willing to create different, more sustainable systems. Like a kaleidoscope, I believe that all parts of ourselves are beautiful (even if they don’t feel that way right now). I strive to empower my client’s, regardless of age, abilities, or support needs, to tell their stories, understand their experiences, and create sustainability so they can live a more joy-filled life.
When not therapisting, you can find me engaging in the things I love and sticking to my routine that keeps me grounded. I am an avid reader and highly recommend that everyone have a library card. When the weather is nice you can find me obsessing over my garden and creating a native plant haven. I am huge on movement and am a total geek when it comes to hiking, national parks, and finding the best trails. Art is a way for me to express myself and I do my best to engage in my own art making as much as possible.
I do my best to find small moments of joy in everyday and want the same for my clients!
My Approach
I approach all of my work from a neurodivergent affirming, trauma-informed lens. I strive to have cultural humility, learning about those things which I do not know and listening to my clients about what is important to them. My goal is to help all my clients have more awareness and control of their minds and bodies so that they have the freedom to choose something different. In session, I am both caring but truthful and upfront. I hold space for client’s emotions and needs while also gentling pointing out places where they may be stuck. I do not work with and do not support ABA. I work within my scope of practice and regularly confer with other practitioners to make sure my clients receive the best care.
My experience
Over my time as a therapist, I have had the privilege of working with people from all walks of life. I have worked with adults experiencing acute trauma and mental health needs in an intensive in-patient setting, worked with children and teens in school systems, supported parents, and worked in group practice providing therapy and parent coaching. My focus has been on trauma, neurodivergent folks, and supporting parents in creating calmer households.
