Why Kaleidoscope?

A kaleidoscope is beautiful and ever changing, just like our brains. But, if you look through the wrong end, it can look like a garbled mess. It isn’t that the kaleidoscope is broken, just that we aren’t viewing it correctly. Many people come to therapy feeling like they are broken or like they don’t belong. Some can keep up the appearance of having it all together while others are in full burnout mode. The world, life, and circumstances has them looking through the wrong end of a kaleidoscope.

As neurodivergent, creative therapists, we take the approach that all brains are beautiful and we are not here to change who you are. We focus on providing therapy and support to neurodivergent children, teens, adults, and families in Northern Virginia. Instead of looking for things to fix, our therapists will work with you to gain awareness and understanding so that you can embrace all parts of yourself, learn how to accept and accommodate those things that need support, and live life on your terms. Essentially, we want to help you to look through the correct end of your kaleidoscope!

What we believe

At Kaleidoscope we practice from a neruodivergent affirming, trauma-informed, social justice lens. We value curiosity, collaboration and community. We believe that each person is the expert on themselves and we never ask a client to change who they are. We believe in disrupting the systems that exist that do not serve all people and that everyone deserves access to care.
